Romantic Scam Artist* - Full story below

Port Saunders, Newfoundland, Canada.

This is what I have learned about Elizabeth Spence over a year and a half of a relationship with her.

She's a pathological liar, a cheater, a thief, a user, a criminal, an addict, a narcissist, a psychopath and a self-proclaimed lunatic.

Let's get started. Before I proceed further, all my claims are backed by affidavits and the personal questions from my federal security clearance polygraph. Please read the Legal Statement, accessible via the Red Star (*) link located anywhere on this page.

For the first three months, our relationship was wonderful until she had her first affair over the May 24th weekend. She told me she was at a campground with a friend from Deer Lake, but in reality, she picked up a man in Deer Lake and brought him to Port Saunders for the weekend. On Sunday night, after dropping him off in Deer Lake, she called me crying, claiming she had made a mistake but refusing to admit to the affair. Months later, I discovered the affair and realized that everything surrounding it was built on lies and deceit. She is an adept manipulator and will never admit when she is wrong. After this incident, I installed six security cameras around the property and inside the house.

I frequently travelled from Nova Scotia to Port Saunders to visit her, spending a year and a half making the trip while she never once visited me in Nova Scotia, except for one occasion when I paid for her entire trip to pick up my belongings, most of which I never got back. Over that year and a half, I invested approximately $28,000 worth of labour into her property, covered all travel expenses, and spent thousands of dollars on cannabis vapes and marijuana for her. Ultimately, she sold me a dream - a future I could build on - that was entirely a lie. Every promise she made was false. So far, nothing criminal, right? Please bear with me as we get to that part.

*On the advice of my attorney, I will not mention any names on this website, but I will refer to an individual as Mr. X, who came from Port aux Choix one day seeking help with the sale of a crab license. Elizabeth Spence, a Commissioner of Oaths in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, spent nearly an hour using crack cocaine with him before reviewing and signing the documents with her Commissioner of Oaths seal. It is highly likely that a Commissioner of Oaths using crack cocaine while signing legal documents constitutes a criminal offence, which could call into question the validity of every document she has signed in that capacity.

I witnessed her using crack cocaine multiple times during our relationship, despite my pleas for her to stop. Nearly a year after our relationship ended, friends informed me that she was still using crack cocaine. This latter claim is hearsay and, for the purposes of this website, cannot be substantiated. However, I can confirm that she used crack cocaine during our relationship.

Now, let’s address the truly dangerous behaviour.

*She was under the influence of cannabis every single day, which, while not illegal in Canada, is her choice, and I respect that. However, every time she picked me up in Deer Lake, she was stoned while driving. On one occasion, driving back from Deer Lake just past Rocky Harbour, she was so intoxicated that she became paralyzed behind the wheel. Eventually, she pulled over and let me drive after realizing she could no longer operate the vehicle safely. I was terrified every time we drove to Corner Brook because, as soon as we reached Hawkes Bay, she would pull a cannabis vape from her bra and begin using it. She would smoke cannabis the entire way to Corner Brook and back. On several occasions, we experienced near misses and close calls. Although she believed she was capable of driving while under the influence, one of the effects of being stoned seems to be a delusional grasp of reality. I wish there were a Public Service Announcement every time she left Port Saunders for Corner Brook, warning parents to keep their children off the roads, as stoned drivers, like drunk drivers, pose a deadly risk.

*I was with her for several weeks after she began working as a secretary at the hospital in Port Saunders. On one occasion, at a family function, she discussed petty cash issues at the hospital and complaints related to a long-term care client, even mentioning the names of the client’s relatives from Hawkes Bay and detailing their complaints about missing cash and receipts. I won’t elaborate further here, as the client’s name was mentioned, sparking a lengthy discussion among family members who knew the client. Having spent years protecting confidential data in my career, I recognized this as a severe violation of PIPEDA (HIPAA in the U.S.). She should have been immediately terminated for this breach and others I witnessed. This brings up another issue: during our relationship, she asked if I would provide a urine sample for her if she ever needed to pass a drug test at work, as I have never used illegal drugs due to my security clearance. When and if Western Health in Newfoundland ever does drug tests, make sure they are blood tests and not urine tests, because she can manipulate everything and everyone around her.

Let’s return to the personal side of things.

Think about this, I can name 1000 or more things I did to help her, improve her life and her property and over a year and a half, I cannot name one thing she did to improve mine, not a single one... That, by definition, is called a USER and a SCAMMER.

Elizabeth convinces you that you have a future and a dream together, then manipulates you into spending money on her. I personally spent over $20,000 on our relationship in a year and a half, not including the $28,000 in labour I calculated for work on her property - and it was all based on lies. It was the most cunning manipulation and scam I have ever encountered. We’ve all heard of internet scam artists; well, Elizabeth Spence is a romantic scam artist. I know for a fact that after our relationship, she scammed another man out of $8,000, as he shared in a Newfoundland Facebook group. If you have been scammed by this woman, please contact me; we may have grounds for a lawsuit or two.

My advice: if you encounter this woman, keep your wallet locked tight. Do not believe a single word she says. Act cautiously from the start - you won’t regret it - because she’s only yours until a bigger wallet comes along for her to scam.

Have you ever noticed that scammers hide everything on social media? They won’t post pictures of you together, keeping you hidden. If they do post anything, they share it only with you and one or two friends to make it seem believable. That’s exactly what she does. The reason for this is likely because she’s scamming two or three other men at the same time she’s scamming you. Another critical point: she will never date someone from her own community. Once the scam is over, she wants her victims as far away from her town as possible. Bad news for her - I’m moving to Port Saunders this summer.

The personal items I purchased that she stole from me.
